For the next two weeks, El Paso Matters is offering a unique celebration of El Paso high school students in the Class of 2020.
These students have persevered under unimaginable circumstances. Their senior year began days after a mass shooting that killed 23 people, then was disrupted by a global pandemic. They were resilient and managed to complete their high school education in daunting conditions.
El Paso Matters, the El Paso Community Foundation and Barracuda PR have teamed up to produce a salute to these students. More than 30 prominent El Pasoans have recorded messages for the Class of 2020. We’ll be rolling out these messages over the next two weeks.
“This graduating class missed out on so many senior year traditions. We wanted to remind them how much El Paso treasures who they are and what they’ve accomplished,” said Robert Moore, CEO of El Paso Matters.
The videos will feature an Academy Award winner, a Grammy winner, a best-selling author, social justice leaders, journalists, entrepreneurs, elected officials, a retired general, a former astronaut and others.
Here’s a preview of what’s to come.
New videos will be added on our website each weekday and shared on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.
