As a nonprofit news organization, El Paso Matters relies on support of its Members to make our journalism possible. We have been blessed with tremendous support since we began publishing in February. If you find our in-depth and investigative reporting valuable, but haven’t yet become a Member, we ask that you consider doing so by the end of the year.

El Paso Matters is unique among Borderland news outlets. Not only do we make all of our content freely available to anyone interested in reading, we also make our content available to other media outlets who would like to share it. Our goal is to get important news and information to people who need it.

The kind of work we do can be expensive. We hire skilled journalists who know how to dig out information that governments often don’t want you to see. Sometimes we have to pay hefty bills to get that information from governments. Sometimes we sue governments to get that information.

You can help us in that mission in two ways.

The first is to subscribe to our newsletter that comes out each Monday morning. The newsletter brings you quickly up to date with our recent work. And it’s free.

The second way to support our mission is to become a Member of El Paso Matters. The Membership requires a donation that can be as small or large as you choose.

The last few days of 2020 are a good time to become a Member during the NewsMatch campaign. National foundations are matching contributions to nonprofit news organizations through the end of the year.

We know many important nonprofit organizations asking for your year-end support. We hope you’ll consider El Paso Matters as you make your year-end giving decisions.
