The Rio Grande will be running in El Paso soon, as water was released Memorial Day from the Caballo Dam. The continued drought means a shorter irrigation season as less water made its way downstream to Elephant Butte Reservoir. Reporters Danielle Prokop and Corrie Boudereaux followed the river for several weeks, witnessing its impacts on the people and wildlife who depend on it.
